The massage clinic is expanding and we are delighted, as ever, to continue to work in conjunction with the Exmouth Chiropractic Clinic, for an integrated, modern and evidence based approach to ever changing healthcare

Therapeutic and remedial massage therapy is a natural therapy, which uses manipulation of the soft tissues to prevent and treat musculoskeletal dysfunction.

Therapeutic massage relaxes and directly stretches tight and overused muscles, encourages a balance between structures in order to reduce prolonged muscle contraction, strain, fatigue, spasm, and muscle compensation that can result in pain, reduced range of motion, compression of underlying structures, postural alterations, and finally injury.

Massage being a holistic therapy it works on many levels.

Locally massage can release muscle tension, relieve pain, improve flexibility and thus avoid potential injury.

On a wider scale massage improves movement of blood and lymph promoting an efficient exchange of oxygen and nutrients with carbon dioxide and metabolic waste.

Stimulates either the sympathetic nervous system to stimulate muscles following disuse or for preparation of sporting events or the parasympathetic system decreasing stress hormones and promoting relaxation.

Different effects will arise depending on techniques used.

Remedial massage works on more localised areas to treat specific musculoskeletal problems and injuries using deep tissue techniques for manipulation of tissues.

Now the massage clinic will have the opportunity to offer not only Massage therapy at its highest professional standards, but also other complementary and orthodox therapies that we consider to be effective when integrated with massage.

Our mobile Massage therapist, will also provide massage into the comfort of people s homes and workplaces

There will also be a state registered dietician,a Health coach/NLP practitioner will work alongside the Massage therapists for pain management programmes and performance enhancing, as well as tackling common issues like phobias, addictions and several other issues

The massage clinic is expanding from a teaching point of view as well by opening The Massage Training School. I have been lecturing ITEC courses and post graduate workshops on Anatomy, Physiology and Massage for the past 3 years from the Local Adult Centre and from private schools around the area. I will now bring all my courses under one roof, as well as hosting workshops from external lecturers and leading speakers from within the field of massage.
